Kamakura closes early and the kids are on the wrong clock. Book an evening, hand over the bedtime routine, and go eat a meal that isn't cut into small pieces — or finally take that walk on the beach at Shichirigahama you've been meaning to take since you landed.
An hour on the train each way is a lot for a four-year-old. Leave them with someone who knows the local parks and playgrounds.
Arrival week is its own kind of hard. An afternoon of quiet play at your place lets everyone reset — including you.

All prices include tax. Each session is five hours, booked as one block. USD figures are indicative and settle in yen. Care running past 23:30 means your nanny takes a taxi home — that fare is covered by your family and typically runs ¥5,000–¥20,000 depending on distance. Refunds: full refund within 14 days of purchase if you haven't booked a session yet. A confirmed session can't be cancelled within 2 days of its start. If we can't match a nanny to a session you requested at least 2 days ahead, that session is refunded.

We find the right nanny for your family and set up a free video call. The kids usually say hello too. If the fit isn't right, we'll find someone else.
Before every session you sign a simple service agreement, and we send you a booking confirmation with the date and time.
Give us the date and hours at least 2 days ahead; we handle the rest. Your nanny comes to you in Kamakura.

Questions Boundless families ask
Long enough to be worth the trip for your nanny — Kamakura is a journey out from the Tokyo area for most of our team — and honestly, long enough to be worth it for you. Five hours is dinner and a walk on the beach, or a full day in Tokyo without watching the clock. It's also what lets us keep our package rates low.
Packages start at ¥64,000 for two five-hour sessions (The Landing), down to ¥4,760 an hour with The Season Pass. There's no booking fee, and your first session includes a free extra hour. If you need more time, additional hours are ¥7,500 an hour, or ¥8,800 if requested within 48 hours.
Your first session with us is six hours instead of five, at no extra cost. It applies once per family.
No — each session runs as one five-hour block. It's what lets us keep the same nanny with your family instead of shuffling schedules around.
Your sessions are valid for one year from purchase, even after your Boundless stay ends. After that they expire, with no refund and no transfer. If you're leaving with sessions left, tell us early and we'll help you use them.
Not a problem — tell your nanny. Extra hours are ¥7,500 an hour, or ¥8,800 if requested within 48 hours or on the day. One thing to know: if care runs past 23:30 the trains have stopped, so your nanny takes a taxi home and that fare sits with your family. Depending on how far she's travelling it's usually somewhere between ¥5,000 and ¥20,000.
Yes, up to 2 days before a session starts — a session you cancel in time goes back into your package. Inside 2 days it can't be cancelled and counts as used, because your nanny has already kept that time free for you. The package itself is refundable in full within 14 days of purchase, as long as you haven't booked a session yet.
If you asked at least 2 days ahead and we can't match a nanny, we refund that session in full, to your original payment method. If we can't find a suitable nanny within two weeks of your purchase, we'll refund you too. Requests made less than 2 days ahead are best effort: we'll try, but can't guarantee a match, and the session stays in your package.
Always, and it's free. We set up a video call between your family and the nanny we've matched you with before your first session. Kids usually join — it makes the first day much easier. If the fit isn't right, say so and we'll find someone else. Want a different nanny later on? Just tell us and we'll find someone for your next session.

Either. Say which you'd prefer on the form. For outings we'll agree the plan, the area and any transport costs with you in advance — nothing gets decided on the day without you.
Only in a few cases. You cover her meal if a session runs four hours or more without at least 30 uninterrupted minutes for her to step out and eat, if she's asked to eat with you or the children as part of her care, or if she takes the children to a restaurant without you. We'll agree a meal budget and any dietary needs with you first. Otherwise there's nothing to provide.
