FAQs

How does Travel Nanny™ select its nannies?

We have a rigorous selection process that includes extensive background checks, qualification verification, and personality assessments to ensure that all our nannies meet our high standards for safety, professionalism, and childcare expertise.

Can I meet the nanny before making the decision?

Absolutely. We encourage families and nannies to meet (virtually or in person) before any commitments are made. This helps ensure a good match and gives you peace of mind.

What qualifications do your nannies have?

Our nannies come with a range of qualifications, from early childhood education and first aid certification to specialized training in childcare and development. We verify all qualifications during our vetting process.

How does Travel Nanny™ ensure the safety of my children?

Safety is our top priority. Our nannies adhere to a stringent code of conduct focused on safety, respect, and professionalism. We also offer continuous training and support to our nannies to ensure they follow the best childcare practices.

What happens if my travel plans change?

We understand that travel plans can be fluid. Our team is ready to assist you with any changes, offering flexible solutions to ensure your childcare needs are always covered.

Can the nanny travel with us during our trip?

Yes, our nannies are available to provide continuous care throughout your trip, including traveling with you to different locations, ensuring a consistent caregiving presence for your children.

How do I pay for Travel Nanny™ services?

Payments are processed securely through our platform. You'll receive a detailed invoice with clear pricing before any service begins, and you can choose from several convenient payment methods.

What if I'm not satisfied with the nanny provided?

Your satisfaction is paramount. If, for any reason, you feel the nanny is not the right fit for your family, we will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

How can I provide feedback on my experience with Travel Nanny™?

We welcome and value your feedback. After your service has concluded, you will be invited to complete a survey about your experience. Additionally, our customer support team is always here to listen to your feedback or concerns.

Who pays for the Travel Nanny™'s meals?

Travel Nanny's are an integral part of your travel experience, ensuring your children are safe, engaged, and happy. Covering their meals while dining out is not just about providing for their basic needs-it's about inclusivity and respect for their essential role in your family's journey.

By ensuring that the travel nanny's meals are taken care of, you help create a seamless and enjoyable experience for everyone involved. They don't have to eat exactly what or where you're eating but this gesture acknowledges their contributions and ensures they can remain focused and energized to provide the best care for your children. It's a small but significant way to express appreciation and make them feel truly part of the family adventure.

I had such great time with my Nanny? Can I tip them after our allotted time?

Thank you for asking! What a thoughtful question. Tips are always appreciated but of course are not mandatory - it's entirely up to you!

I want to gift this to friends/family, can I book for them?

Due to the personal nature of our service and the sometimes many logistics involved, nannies cannot be booked through family/friends. If you wish to gift a nanny for someone, we encourage you to gift as a gift card .

This allows the recipient to create their own account and, for privacy reasons, receive their bookings directly. They can also organize their travel details themselves to confirm the best dates, preferred location, and nanny that best matches their itinerary and style.

What are the children's ages and interests?

Every client (families) will be different but the typical age of the children will be under seven years old (or in a stroller). Sometimes the families will also have more than one child. The youngest age will be infants.

What are the expected duties and responsibilities?

As a travel nanny, you are expected to give your entire devotion and full attention to the child/ children throughout the entire time. These duties include, but are not limited to assisting the mother, feeding the child, playing and entertaining the child, diaper changes, pushing the stroller, navigating trains and public transportation and taking photographs for the family. You are the Most Valuable Player and the extra set of hands parents need while traveling with young children.

What are the hours and schedule?

The hours and schedule may fluctuate daily but generally set everyday. For example, your day will be starting at 8:30 AM at the hotel assisting the kids at breakfast, changing diapers, and helping the kids get ready to start their day. Or you can go back to the hotel with the family to help get the kids ready for bed after a day on the town.

Is there a need for flexibility in scheduling?

The travel nanny website allows you to input your schedule depending on your availability. Our website matches families according to your availability.

What is the payment schedule and salary?

That's the best thing about our company. You will name your own hourly rate including any transportation fees. We provide payment through Wise, Venmo, or Western Union.

Are there any travel expectations?

As a travel nanny, you will be the local expert. You will not be expected to travel outside of the country.

What is the family's parenting style?

Every family is different, but we advise the nanny to adhere to the rules and discipline that the parents set upfront to maintain consistency with parents approaches. Most importantly, it is not the job of the nanny to discipline the children.

What is the length of commitment?

The length of each job commitment for each family is different every time. Some of the families will be on holiday for a week, some more or less. The more flexibility you provide on The Travel Nanny app, the more chance we can match you with a family who is traveling. The commitment/days you can work is entirely up to you.

Are there opportunities for professional development or additional training?

We are open to suggestions, ideas for nanny, gatherings, and education. We are a community that empowers men and women. Please reach out to us if you have suggestions!

Do you provide work Visas?

At our company, we value flexibility and the ability to collaborate with talented individuals around the globe. As an independent contractor with us, you have the freedom to work from any location and manage your schedule to fit your lifestyle. This arrangement means that you're not confined to an office or specific geography, providing you with the opportunity to create a work-life balance that suits your personal and professional goals. While we do not provide working visas, as our collaboration does not involve traditional employment, we are excited to support your contributions and celebrate your successes as part of our diverse, global community. We look forward to achieving great things together!

How much do you charge for me to be on your platform or when I book a job?

You don't pay anything to be on our platform, nor do we deduct any fees from your earnings. All fees are paid for by the families. That's the beauty of being on The Travel Nanny team!
